Screening Budapest 2012
Finnish-Hungarian mobile photography exhibition
In the summer of 2012 there will be a mobile photography screening in Hungary. in this nomad exhibition photographs from Finnish, Hungarian and international artists are screened using a projection equipment installed inside a car. This exhibition travels through Budapest to other towns and villages in Hungary in which building walls are used as a projection surface. The trip starts from Helsinki.
Similar touring exhibitions have been arranged earlier. Backlight Screening as part of the Backlight 2011 photography festival took scratch of the exhibition works around the towns nearby Tampere. (A commissioned work for the Photographic Centre Nykyaika.) The pictures were presented oudoors as a digital slideshow. Simililarly in another exhibition called Screening Helsinki (screeninghelsinki.com), 15 photographers’ works have been projected on walls of buildings in Helsinki and Tampere and will be presented in Tartu in February 2012. The participants of the travelling exhibition project are at the moment: Mari Aaltonen, Kristoffer Albrecht, István Balogh, Lucie Dubreuil, Mikko Enqvist, Jenni Haili, Taika Ilola, Martti Jämsä, Marjaana Kella, Jyrki Kirjalainen, Veronika Koczian, Ritva Kovalainen, Viivi Nieminen, Pekka Nikrus, Angéla Nyiri, Karoliina Paappa, Uku Peterson, Ida Pimenoff, Jaana Ristola, Sari Tervaniemi, Ági Vedres. Of them Kirjalainen and Haili form the core of the project group. They are responsible for planning the exhibition and executing the plan. They will also drive the projection vehicle from Finland to Hungary in June / July 2012. István is the contact person at Budapest and helps in the arrangements. The Finnish-Hungarian Association supports the project and assists in organizing the exhibition. Tanel Päll will make introductory animation for the presentation. Olli Aarni produces the music that is included in the show.
At this point photographers in Hungary and Finland are invited to join the event and the selections about the exhibted works are made. There are also other artistic endeavours planned around this project. In Hungary there will be meetings arranged with the local artists and possibitilies for future collaboration is investigated. The Screening Exhibition will also be presented in Finland in the autumn of 2012. Later on the show will go on in other countries as opportunities arisen.

Screening Budapest / Vetített Budapest 2012
Finn-magyar mozgó fotókiállítás
2012 nyarán, Magyarországra érkezik egy egyedülálló, mozgó, fotográfiai kisérlet. A “nomád” kiállításon magyar, finn és nemzetközi művészek alkotásai elevenednek meg egy autóba szerelt vetítőrendszer segítségével. A Helsinkiből induló mobil kiállítás Budapestet érintve eljut más, kisebb hazai településre is, ahol épületek falaira vetítik a pályaműveket.
A szervezők korábbi munkája szerepelt a tamperei Backlight 2011 fényképészeti fesztiválon is Backlight Screening néven -a Nykyaikai Fotográfus Központ együttműködésével-, ekkor a város falaira vetítették a digitális tárlatot. Tavalyi performansz-sorozatuk, a Screening Helsinki (screeninghelsinki.com) során 15 nemzetközi művész alkotása festette be fénnyel Helsinki és Tampere utcáit. A Frame, Finnish Fund for Art Exchange által támogatott projekt 2012-ben Tartuba is ellátogat.

Közülük Jyrki Kirjalainen és Jenni Haili szervezik a kiállításokat, vezetik a vetítővel felszerelt járművet Helsinkiből Budapestre, a kiállítás kezdő színhelyére 2012 júniusában-júliusában. Balogh István Magyarországon szervezi és segíti a rendezvényt. Az eseményt – többek közt- a Finn-magyar Egyesület (Finnish-Hungarian Association) támogatja. A felvezető animációt Tanel Päll, míg a zenei aláfestést Olli Aarni biztosítja.
Jelenleg magyarországi és finnországi fotográfusok munkáinak kiválasztása történik. A szervezők a kiállítás mellett azt is tervezik, hogy művészeti találkozók révén jövőbeni együttműködésre bíztassák a kiállításon résztvevő nemzetközi és helyi művészeket.
A kiállítás anyagát és a budapesti eseményeket bemutató Screening Exhibition-t 2012 őszén Finnországban is levetítik. A szervezők a rendezvény sikerétől függően más országokban is szeretnék folytatni a sorozatot.
